Programs

NCMACC strives to spread the love of music to many generations by teaching with patience and passion and offering different types of programs in order to meet the preferences of our students.

Our studio is open from Monday to Saturday, for private and group lessons. Students are offered comprehensive instructions at every stage of their development by well-qualified faculty members. In addition, students have the opportunity to perform in regularly scheduled recitals.

 PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS:

We provide individual music lessons for instruments including piano, violin, cello, double-bass, guitar, saxophone, clarinet and voice,  to learners of all ages and at  any level on a weekly basis. Lessons are scheduled at your convenience.

Private Classes Tuition:

One time registration fee = $40

30 minutes lesson = $35

45 minutes lesson = $52

60 minutes lesson = $68

 

SEMI-PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS:

This small-sized class, maximum of 4 students, allows the students to have individual attentions from the teacher while being motivated in a social learning environment.  Class can be formed with siblings and friends. Class can be started with of 2 students for 4o minutes, 3 students for 45 minutes and 4 students for an hour.

Tuition: $200 for 8 weeks

Piano:   Friday 4:30-5:15 pm, Saturday 12:45-1:25 pm, Monday 4:30-5:15, 5:00-6:00pm

Violin:  Tuesday 5:00-5:40pm

Cello:   Monday 4:30-5:45 pm

WREACHOUT:

Our WREACHOUT program, which is funded by DCYF (Department of Children, Youth, and their Families), runs during the spring/fall and offers a variety of after-school group classes to match our students’ interests.


PAINTING:
 Monday 4:15-5:15pm; Tuesday 3:00-4:00pm. Located at 3120 Geary Blvd. This painting class is a discovery of painting techniques, which includes structure, form, composition, color theory and the use of tools. The students are encouraged to express their own individual styles and also learn about other artists as well.
PIANO: Tuesday 4:05-5:05pm; Wednesday, 3:30-4:30pm ; Thursday, 3:00-4:00pm; Friday, 3:00-4:00pm; Saturday, 9:00-10:00, 10:00-11:00am. Located on 3120 Geary Blvd. Study music theory and learn to play and appreciate music. Each student will have a short individual lesson with teacher in the group class. Learn music pieces in increasing difficulty.
GUITAR: Wednesday 4:45-5:45pm; Friday 4:15-5:15pm. Located at 3120 Geary Blvd. for students ages 8-12. Students will experience what it is like t perform together in a group band.  They’ll learn band etiquette as it applies to rehearsal and performances, equipment setup, stage presence, team work, responsibility and more!
TAEKWONDO: Tuesday 3:30-5:00pm. Located in Rosa Parks Elementary School at 1501 O’Farrell Street. Taekwondo provides an opportunity for youth to develop physical and mental strength and self-discipline.
SINGING: Monday, 3:00-4:00pm. Located at 3120 Geary Blvd. This is a select choral class for children who enjoy singing. Participants will received vocal instruction and learn selective Broadway musical and classical songs. Members for this program must be proficient in music note reading.

$100 Registration Fee/class for a whole semester. No tuition fee.

**WREACHOUT is for ages 6-12 only; is first come, first serve; class schedules may change; and limits students to two classes per child.**

 

 

Summer Music Camp

NCMACC’s 2016 two-week period, intensive and fun Summer Music Camp will occur during July 11th-22th Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 1:00pm. The program is open for students ages 6-11 with a tuition fee of $390.

Four programs will take place: Music Class (Individual, Group Music Lessons: Piano, & Band), Singing (Musical Songs), Music Appreciation (Music Theory & History) and Crafting Class. The group of instructors include Young Sook Kim (Director of NCMACC/Piano), Jiyon Son (Program Director/ Voic & Craft), Virginia Jourdan (Art). In the music class, students will learn how to play their choice of piano or violin. In the singing, they will sing together (Repertoires from famous Broadway musicals, the Sound of Music, and more). In Music Appreciation, they will learn the fundamentals of music theory, basic note reading, rhythm skills, and theoretical background. In the crafting class, students will create props and art works that can enhance their understanding of musical instruments, characters in the songs, and the subjects that tight to musical plays that they watch. In the art class, students will learn various techniques including structure, form, composition, color theory and the use of  tools.  They are encouraged to express their own individual styles and creativity.

These classes help our students further understand music by exposing them to a wide range of music styles and music-related activities.

On the last day of the program, Friday, July 22th, there will be a small recital starting from 11:00am. Music Camp members will showcase what they have learned in two weeks of classes.

 

Summer Music Program is 40% supported by NCMACC.

 

KAYMG (Korean American Youth Music Group)

The Korean-American Youth Musical Group is a youth performing arts group specializing in traditional Korean folklore, drum and dance.

The group performs in recitals, events, concerts, and public venues such as Asian Art Museum, Korean Day in San Francisco, School of the Arts, and Asian Pacific Heritage Festival. Through this program, students will be able to connect deeper with Korean culture and spread the wonderful traditions through performing.

  • Eligible: Students age 6 to 17
