Description

The clarinet is a woodwind instrument that uses a single reed and was developed in Nuremberg, Germany in the eighteenth century by Johann Christoph Denner. It became a star of classical music through Mozart's beautiful Clarinet Concerto and later jazz through legends like Benny Goodman, who brought the instrument into the swing era spotlight. The clarinet is wonderful for learners because it's relatively affordable to rent, lighter and easier to hold than many instruments, and opens doors for students to both concert band and jazz band during school - plus students can often start seeing progress quickly, which keeps them motivated.
